Number of Animals Increases at Central Zoo of DPRK

Pyongyang, September 20 (KCNA) -- The number of animals has increased at the Central Zoo in the DPRK, according to Rodong Sinmun.

An official of the Central Zoo said that hundreds of young animals of over 100 kinds including 20-odd kinds of gift animals were newly born this year.

A Korean tiger gave birth to three cubs in June, and they weigh about 10kg on average.

Among the young animals is a kitten of Ring-tailed Lemur, a gift animal. It weighs about 100g at the birth time and now 500g.

Many animals including seal and vervet monkey also brought forth their young.

A lot of working people have visited the zoo to spend a pleasant time. -0-
