Korea April 26 Animation Studio

Pyongyang, September 7 (KCNA) -- The Korea April 26 Animation Studio in the central part of Pyongyang is well known throughout the country as a popular animation creators group.

It has produced many cartoons loved by not only children but also adults.

Typical ones are "The Boy General", "The Clever Raccoon Dog" and "Ko Ju Mong".

The theme of "The Boy General" (100 parts) is the anti-aggression struggle of the people in Koguryo (B.C. 277-A.D. 668) and their patriotism. "Ko Ju Mong" (50 parts) deals with the figures recorded in history. They gave pleasure to the people throughout the country with interesting life story, relations between lifelike characters and great dramatic attraction.

"The Clever Raccoon Dog" contributes to the development of intelligence and study of children and students for its themes dealing with valuable fundamentals.

The studio is now producing a historical cartoon "Prince Hodong and Princess Rangnang" on the basis of actual historical facts. The 3-D cartoon, based on advanced technology, also gains popularity for its lifelike characters, dramatic composition and lively music.

The studio has widened the range of subject and introduced new depictive technologies to produce cartoons earlier with a combination of 3-D work and speech record.
