Passing-on-Technique Meeting

Pyongyang, September 4 (KCNA) -- A meeting was held at Undok Farm in Onchon County of the DPRK on September 3 to transfer the technique for sowing winter wheat and barley to the attendants.

It was attended by officials, scientists and researchers from the Agricultural Commission, provincial rural economy committees, etc.

First, the meeting gave an explanation about an issue arising in sowing winter wheat and barley as required by the Juche farming method.

Then it referred to the issues arising in completing the sowing in a proper way at the optimum time by choosing the right soil, increasing the fertility of soil, sowing high yielding varieties and raising the proportion of farm work done by machines.

There was a demonstration of how to select seeds, disinfect and treat seeds with the wheat and barley seed-covering material "Phungnyonmo 3" and sow a dry and paddy field with seeds.

The participants visited a tideland paddy field to which the Onchon Branch of the Rice Research Institute of the Academy of Agricultural Sciences has introduced nutritive cold-bed seedlings and a paddy field at Unha Farm in Onchon County where fish are being raised. -0-
