Potato Harvest Begins in DPRK

Pyongyang, September 4 (KCNA) -- Farms in Ryanggang Province of the DPRK are now busy harvesting potatoes.

Farms in the counties of Taehongdan and Paegam have fulfilled their daily plans at more than 120 percent by raising the operation rate of potato diggers.

Farms in the city of Samjiyon took technical steps to increase the proportion of mechanization and rationalized manpower allotment to harvest all the potatoes.

Farmers in Samsu and Pochon counties are raising the operation rate of farm machines and using draught animals to push ahead with the potato harvest.

The Jiksol Livestock Farm in Kim Hyong Gwon County and the Upho Livestock Farm in Phungso County have dug out more potatoes every day than planned by concentrating their workforce and means on the harvest.

Meanwhile, Samjiyon City and Taehongdan County are sending the potatoes to the relevant processing bases. -0-
