Housing Construction in Komdok Area Nears Completion

Pyongyang, October 8 (KCNA) -- Thanks to the devoted efforts of the workers of the General Bureau of the Tanchon Area Mining Industry, the housing construction in the Komdok area planned this year is progressing at the final stage.

They have successfully completed the dredging of medium and small rivers, the improvement of tens of thousands of square meters of slopes and the construction of retaining walls. And the area was landscaped with trees of good species and turf. The greening of the area is adding to the scenic beauty of the mining town.

The workers invented and introduced efficient jigs and tools to push ahead with the internal and external plastering, tile-setting and fixture installation, thus building the dwelling houses by September.

Skilled workers are being alloted rationally, and inside and outside projects, such as installing aluminium-framed windows, are being carried out in a responsible manner.

Other projects, including the pavement of roads of tens of thousands of square meters, were completed in a short of time.

The general bureau is carrying out detailed construction work and land leveling. -0-
