Schools in Pyongyang Focus on Swimming Lessons

Pyongyang, July 26 (KCNA) -- General education units in Pyongyang, the capital city of the DPRK, are paying more attention to swimming lessons.

They have remodeled or repaired indoor and outdoor swimming pools and made substantial preparations to teach the students swimming in a way suited to their ages and mental qualities with months for maritime physical culture, July and August, as an occasion.

They are helping the students improve the ability to get familiar to the water including breathing and floating and employing different forms and methods in teaching them how to swim.

They are directing efforts to theoretical education through visual aids and videos. They also give lessons about how to use tools in the water and conduct a rescue operation.

And they organize judgments and contests among classes in a planned way to raise the enthusiasm for competition. -0-
