Newspapers of DPRK Carry Editorials on Occasion of 81st Anniversary of National Liberation
Pyongyang, August 15 (KCNA) -- Leading newspapers of the DPRK on Saturday dedicate editorials to the 81st anniversary of national liberation.
Rodong Sinmun in an editorial says that the historic significance of August 15, 1945 is not confined to the fact that the dignity and sovereignty of our country, which had been eclipsed on the world map, were regained.
The dynamic struggle for building a powerful country started from this historic day and the heroic struggle of the most just and bravest people in the world paving their way by their own efforts was written in the history, the editorial says, and goes on:
The 81-year-long struggle that started with August 15 as a watershed is shedding its rays as an immortal chronicle in which the dignity and prestige of the country have been demonstrated all over the world.
History has never seen like our revolution that has traversed stern trials and adversity decisive to advance or retreat from the first step of pioneering.
It waged a heavy and hard-fought war against the hostile forces to encroach upon and usurp our sacred sovereignty, and all sorts of challenges and difficulties, which could not be thought with ordinary determination and will, were created on the road of advance.
But all the obstacles were useless for our state and people with self-respect as their lifeblood.
Our state and people have invariably paved an unprecedented path beyond the existing ideas and formulas for the dignity and honour which can neither be lost again nor be bartered with anything.
In its immortal course of the struggle, the legendary tales of miraculous war victory were created one after another to frustrate the imperialists' aggression moves to reverse the trend of history, and the socialist state independent in politics, self-supporting in economy and self-reliant in defence, the first of its kind in history, came into being.
Thanks to the dynamic struggle to defend the ideals and the system chosen by the strength of the truth of the Juche idea and build a powerful and prosperous country, our state and people came to reach the peak of glory as today.
