Exhibition "Unmanned Aeronautical Technology Development-2026" Held with Splendour

Pyongyang, October 30 (KCNA) -- The outstanding leadership of the ever-victorious Workers' Party of Korea leading the sacred and historic cause of building a rich country with a strong army to great victory and steady prosperity is ushering in an era of radical development in national defence, the greatest heyday of the military muscle of the DPRK when the absolute strength of our state and people is proudly put on the highest peak of the world.

An exhibition "unmanned aeronautical technology development-2026" was held with splendour on Oct. 29, adding another brilliant page to the history of the struggle for steadily boosting the modernity and military and technological strength of the armed forces of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

On display at the exhibition were combat systems showing the latest achievements made in the field of unmanned aeronautical technology and the prospect of its development, including strategic and operational and tactical multi-purpose drones and suicide attack drones of various kinds.

Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, attended an opening ceremony for the exhibition.

He was greeted courteously by leading officials in the field of munitions industry and the Ministry of National Defence.

All the participants paid the highest tribute to Comrade Kim Jong Un, the ever-victorious iron-willed brilliant commander who has illuminated the clear path to the modernization of the armed forces with his rare military strategic ideas, far-sighted wisdom and energetic leadership and energetically guided the efforts for putting the military and technical might of our army on the highest level.

Present there were secretaries of the C.C., WPK and other members of the Party central leadership, leading officials of the Party Central Committee, senior officials of the Party committees of the Cabinet, commissions and ministries, scientists, technicians and meritorious persons in the field of munitions industry, commanding officers of the Ministry of National Defence and services and corps of the Korean People's Army, division and brigade commanders of the army, and teachers and researchers of military educational and scientific research institutes at all levels and major universities.

The national anthem of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea was played solemnly.

Jo Chun Ryong, member of the Political Bureau and secretary of the C.C., WPK, made a speech at the commemorative event.

The current exhibition is an aggregate of recent achievements made in carrying out the Party Central Committee's policy on developing the unmanned and intelligent combat systems of our own style, he said, introducing the drones of various kinds newly developed in the field of unmanned aeronautical industry.

Comrade Kim Jong Un made an important speech of historic significance.

Referring to the significance of the exhibition intuitively showing the development potential in the field of unmanned aeronautical technology, a key component in the military strength of the state, Comrade Kim Jong Un expressed great satisfaction with it.

Saying that to aim to seize the absolute superiority in the drone technology is an indispensable option in the light of the ever-changing patterns of modern warfare, he mentioned the WPK's national defence development strategy for rapidly expanding and strengthening the unmanned aeronautical technology and the important state measures for its implementation.

Noting that peace and strength are inseparably related to each other, peace is not for sale at any price and therefore even a rich country cannot gain peace with money, Comrade Kim Jong Un said: Strength precisely means peace and peace is guaranteed only by strength. This is a matter of common sense needed to survive in the present noisy world. The scientists of our country should go all out for obtaining miraculous results in development of unmanned aeronautical technology and AI for national defence, too, as we had access to the function of a nuclear weapons state and have made new leaps forward in upgrading conventional weapons.

The senior officials of the Party, government and national defence organs and all those from educational and scientific institutions fervently supported the great historic programme for national defence development, set forth by Comrade Kim Jong Un, and firmly pledged to faithfully carry into practice the plan and decision of the Party Central Committee to reliably defend the security, wellbeing, independent dignity and development environment of the country and its people by dint of absolute power.

Watching the unmanned combat systems on display, he stressed once again the importance and military significance of the development of unmanned aeronautical technology in developing the DPRK's armed forces into the ultra-modern elite army well-versed in modern warfare.

Given the on-going development trend in which unmanned military hardware have emerged as the main assets for military activities in war and their utility scope is expanding with each passing day, it is needed to rapidly develop key technologies in this regard, put unmanned weapon systems on a high-level AI basis and optimize their operational capability, regarding it as a top-priority task for building modern armed forces, he stressed.

The defence science research field should as ever accelerate an important change in the bolstering of the military muscle by dint of mightiness of our Republic's armed forces and sustained and unique development of the self-supporting defence industry reliably supporting the armed forces, he said, underlining the need to push ahead with steadily enhancing their strategic position and role in our own way to the extent that they outpace the world.

The participants looked round the exhibition hall with pride, realizing the epochal development of national defence science.

Then various drones and major weapon systems demonstrated their power to mark the event.

The demonstration involved firepower strikes by various tactical suicide attack drones, tactical cruise missiles, multi-purpose drones and a 600mm-calibre multiple rocket launcher battalion.

Tactical suicide attack drones, air-to-surface missiles from multi-purpose drones and cruise missiles hit the islet target with 100 percent accuracy.

The 600mm-calibre ultra-precision multiple rocket launcher, which is called "sniper", opened fire before the public for the first time.

Watching the great power of the core strategic weapon system of the DPRK, the one and only weapon system in the world, all the participants enthusiastically applauded with great pride.

The creditability and effectiveness of all the major weapon systems were successfully verified.

Comrade Kim Jong Un expressed once again the unshakable and immutable will of the WPK and the DPRK government to further build up the most powerful and righteous war deterrent in order to firmly defend the security of the country, the peaceful life of the people and the environment for socialist development.

This event will greatly encourage the development of the national defence capabilities aimed at building the most powerful army in the world and give greater confidence and courage to the people all out in the historic struggle to implement the decisions of the Ninth Congress of the WPK. -0-
