DPRK Embassy in Beijing Hosts Reception

Pyongyang, September 12 (KCNA) -- The DPRK embassy in Beijing hosted a reception on September 8 on the occasion of the 78th founding anniversary of the DPRK.

Present there on invitation were Peng Qinghua, vice-chairperson of the Standing Committee of the Chinese National People's Congress, officials of the International Liaison Department of the C.C., Communist Party of China, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Science and Technology and other Chinese officials concerned, and foreign diplomatic envoys in China.

Ambassador Ri Ryong Nam and other officials of the DPRK embassy were on hand.

Speeches were made at the reception.

Ri Ryong Nam said that the 78 year-long history of the DPRK is the proud course of victory in which it has dynamically advanced for building a powerful socialist country despite all trials and difficulties under the outstanding leadership of President Kim Il Sung, Chairman Kim Jong Il and respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.

He affirmed that under the seasoned leadership of respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, the DPRK would as ever shine more brilliantly as a fortress of justice and peace with legendary creation of development and prosperity.

He said that the Workers' Party of Korea and the DPRK government would as ever invariably and firmly support the Chinese people in their struggle for defending the cause of socialism with the Chinese characteristics in the new era and the national sovereignty, security, development and interests under the leadership of the Communist Party of China with Comrade General Secretary Xi Jinping as its core.

Peng Qinghua extended warm congratulations on behalf of the Chinese party, government and people to the Korean party, government and people, saying that after the founding of the DPRK the Korean people embarked on the road of independent development and have dynamically advanced the socialist cause and changed the appearance of the state by waging a ceaseless struggle for 78 years.

In particular, General Secretary Kim Jong Un wisely led the Party, government and people of the DPRK in recent years to achieve rich successes in all fields, Peng said, sincerely hoping that the fraternal Korean people would achieve more fresh and bigger successes in the new journey under the leadership of the WPK headed by Comrade Kim Jong Un.

No matter how the international situation may change, the Chinese party and government remains unchanged in its firm stand of attaching great importance to the China-DPRK friendship and also in its steadfast determination to firmly support the socialist cause of the DPRK led by General Secretary Kim Jong Un, defend the common interests of the two countries and preserve the excellent strategic environment, he stressed.

Meanwhile, the DPRK consulate general in Shenyang and its Dandong branch hosted receptions on Sept. 4 and 8 on the same occasion. -0-
