Kosan Combined Fruit Farm

Pyongyang, September 17 (KCNA) -- The Kosan Combined Fruit Farm is located in Kosan County, Kangwon Province of the DPRK.

The area, called Jingosan and Phunggosan in the past as it was muddy and windy, has turned into a socialist land of bliss in the era of the Workers' Party, making a leap forward in fruit production.

The farm is associated with the guidance of respected Comrade General Secretary Kim Jong Un who has made painstaking efforts to provide the people with plenty of fruit.

One day in September 2016, he visited the farm and said that its apples of various varieties are pretty in color and delicious in taste, adding that the people would be glad to receive the apples harvested that year.

He set forth the tasks facing the farm, stressing that it should take the lead in holding high the banner of scientific fruit farming and completely settle the housing problem for its employees and more pig farms should be built to establish the food production cycle of fruit farming and animal husbandry.

True to his intention, the farm has over-fulfilled its production plan every year by directing efforts to the fruit farming.

It won a citation and a rotating pennant at the review of the socialist emulation for increased production in the farming sector in 2016. And in 2017, it increased the fruit production more than 1.5 times by rationally arranging early, middle and late varieties.

The farm has a rich crop every year and supplies fruits to baby homes, orphanages, primary and secondary schools for orphans, old people's homes, hospitals, cities and counties including Wonsan City and Chonnae County. -0-
