Jo Yong Won, Secretary of C.C., WPK, Sends Congratulations to President of United Russia Party

Pyongyang, September 26 (KCNA) -- Jo Yong Won, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, sent a message of congratulations to Dmitri Anatoliyevich Medvedev, president of the United Russia Party, on September 24.

The message said:

Esteemed Comrade President D. A. Medvedev

I extend warm congratulations and comradely greetings to you and, through you, to all the members of the United Russia Party on behalf of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and on my own behalf, as regards the fact that the United Russia Party has won victory in the elections of the 9th State Duma with the support of the absolute majority of the people.

The successful conclusion of the elections of the 9th State Duma clearly showed the will and choice of the Russian people who have grown stronger and firmer in the just struggle and proved the absolute support for and trust in the policy of Comrade President Vladimir Putin and the activities of your Party for its realization.

I express belief that the struggle of your party to defend the sovereign rights and security interests of the country and the international justice will successfully advance as intended by Comrade President Vladimir Putin and in conformity with the absolute interests and just demands of Russia.

I extend congratulations once again to you and the members of the United Russia Party, hoping that the strategic and tactical cooperation between the ruling parties of the two countries will continue to develop in depth in thoroughly implementing the agreements reached at the historic DPRK-Russia summit meetings. -0-
