Founding Anniversary of Chongjin O Jung Hup University of Education Marked

Pyongyang, October 1 (KCNA) -- Chongjin O Jung Hup University of Education marked its 80th founding anniversary.

After national liberation, President Kim Il Sung, with his insight into the importance of teacher training, took a measure to found the university on October 1, 1946. He also sent many experimental apparatuses and books to the university.

Chairman Kim Jong Il, who unfolded a grand blueprint for substantially improving the quality of university education and putting education on a new stage, energetically led the struggle for its realization.

A heyday of educational development has been ushered in under the wise leadership of respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who clearly specified the goals, principles, orientation and ways for the educational revolution in the new century.

The university has made successes in the educational and scientific researches and the training of talents by improving the contents and methods of education and bettering the educational conditions and environment while raising the level of putting all subjects on a Party policy-oriented, theoretical and popularized basis.

A meeting was held on September 30.

Present there were Kim Tu Il, chief secretary of the North Hamgyong Provincial Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Pak Myong Ho, chairman of the provincial people's committee, other officials concerned, and the officials, teaching staff and students of the university.
