DPRK Premier Inspects Several Sectors of National Economy

Pyongyang, October 6 (KCNA) -- Pak Thae Song, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and premier of the DPRK Cabinet, inspected various sectors of the national economy.

The premier visited the February 8 Jikdong Youth Coal Mine of the Sunchon Area Youth Coal-mining Complex and met and encouraged the coal miners who were working hard to increase coal production with a high sense of responsibility for taking an important part in the coal production. He acquainted himself in detail with the production of the coal mine.

He said the coal mine should reinforce the tunneling forces in the coal mine to secure enough reserve coal fields, actively introduce efficient mining methods and equipment into the pit-face work and raise the enthusiasm for mass movement so that all the coal miners turn out as one in the patriotic struggle for increased coal production.

Learning about the current production and remodeling project of the Sunchon Engine Factory, he underscored the need to put the priority on improving the quality as required by the Party's policy, ensure the accuracy of processing accessories so as to produce high-performance tractor engines and step up the design and construction on the principle of optimizing the production processes.

Meanwhile, Pak Thae Song inspected various farms in Ongjin, Kangryong and Pyoksong counties of South Hwanghae Province and stressed the need to properly fix the time for harvesting according to fields and varieties and rationally allocate manpower and machines in order to finish the rice harvest and threshing in time so that the rich harvest of this year can lead to a real yield.

Watching the wheat and barley sowing machine made by the Haeju Farm Machine Factory, he underscored the need to produce and supply different kinds of practical farm machines in keeping with the increase of the area of sowing wheat and barley in the whole area and the timely simultaneous harvesting of late crop and sowing of early crops.

The field consultative meetings discussed the issue of ensuring that relevant units fully produce and supply rock drills, loaders and other equipment and tools necessary for face working and the issue of actively generalizing advanced farming methods in the agricultural field and encouraging the cultivation of oil-bearing crops and sugar crops and took relevant measures. -0-
