Events Held in Indonesia

Pyongyang, April 21 (KCNA) -- A ceremony for visiting the monument to Kimilsungia, a photo and book exhibition and a film show were held at the Bogor Botanical Garden of Indonesia on April 17 on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the historic visit to Indonesia by President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il.

Present there were personages of the government, political parties, organizations and institutions of Indonesia, including the Central Directive Council of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle, the Foreign Ministry, and the Indonesia-Korea Association for Friendship and Cultural Exchange, and the charge d'affaires ad interim of the DPRK embassy in Jakarta and his embassy members.

The participants looked round the portraits of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il, photos of the great leaders and the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, famous works of the peerlessly great men, books and picture albums introducing the DPRK, pictures showing the brilliant development of socialist Korea on display at the venue for events and the monument to Kimilsungia.

They also watched a film dealing with Kim Il Sung's historic visit to Indonesia.

Speeches were made there.

The general chairperson of the Central Directive Council of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle said that President Soekarno warmly welcomed President Kim Il Sung who visited Indonesia at that time with the utmost sincerity and a close friendship was formed between them, underscoring the need to make efforts to hand this legacy down to the next generations.

The personages of the Indonesian foreign ministry and other institutions said that President Kim Il Sung's visit to Indonesia served as a firm foundation for the development of the relations between the two countries, adding that it is a stand of the Indonesian government to develop the cooperation with the DPRK, which has a history of traditional relations of friendship, in various fields and in the mutual interests and in the future. -0-
