Mass Movement Launched in North Phyongan Province of DPRK

Pyongyang, April 17 (KCNA) -- Trade union organizations in North Phyongan Province of the DPRK are conducting the socialist patriotic movement, a revolutionary mass movement.

Trade union officials of the Ponghwa Chemical Factory have turned a technical innovation movement and a drive for economy into the work of the working masses to contribute to lowering the standard of material consumption per unit and establishing a new production line.

Trade union members at the regional-industry factories in Kusong City and Kujang and Unsan counties newly built under the care of the Workers' Party of Korea are pooling their creative wisdom and enthusiasm to carry on the meticulous management and technical control over equipment and produce more consumer goods vital to the people's livelihood.

Trade union organization at the Kujang Area Coal-mining Complex launched a high-speed tunneling campaign and conducted ideological work to encourage the tunneling workers and coal miners to turn out in the collective innovation movement, thus contributing to the fulfillment of the first quarterly plan.

Trade union members at the Kujang Cement Factory are expanding the successes in increased production in April too, through strengthened inter-shift cooperation and introduction of effective production methods.

The primary trade union committee of the Sinuiju Textile Mill has brought about a surge in production by dint of such mass movements as a multi-machine and multi-spindle tending campaign. As a result, at least 150 workers carried out their first half-yearly plans and their number is increasing day by day.

Trade union members of the Sinuiju Footwear Factory and the Sinuiju Bag Factory have directed efforts to developing new products and improving their quality through a campaign in which one overtakes and learns from others and swaps experiences with each other. -0-
