Pyongyang, March 26 (KCNA) -- South Hamgyong Province of the DPRK directs big efforts to landscaping new rural villages while pushing ahead with the construction of modern rural houses.

The province made sure that cities and counties perfect designs for afforestation on a high level, taking into account regional climate and soil conditions, and organized a tree-planting show.

Officials and working people in Hungnam District of Hamhung City and Kumya, Jongphyong and Hamju counties carried out tree-planting on a scientific and technological basis.

Similar projects were also conducted in Hongwon County, Sinpho City and other areas.

Such trees of good species as zelkova and Kumya black pine, planted by officials and working people with sincerity, are now adding to the beauty of newly-built rural villages.

The new rural villages have been decorated with broad-leaved and coniferous trees and flower shrubs and turfs. -0-
