Pyongyang, January 28 (KCNA) -- Today, the human cause of peace is facing a grave challenge, due to the ever-more undisguised aggression and war moves of the imperialists, obsessed with world domination, says Rodong Sinmun in an article on Sunday.

The U.S. imperialists are putting spurs to the preparations for a new world war while causing physical conflicts in different parts of the world, the article says, and goes on:

Their war moves and military threats are being conducted in a global scale and their intensity is increasing. Consequently, the dark clouds of a new war, a nuclear war, are hanging over this planet.

The U.S. imperialists' war moves are getting all the more vicious in the Asia-Pacific region, in particular.

Owing to their ever-escalating war moves, the security environment in the Korean peninsula is inching closer to a more critical situation and the word "war" is already approaching us as a realistic entity, not as an abstract concept.

If a war breaks out in the Korean peninsula, it will spill over into a world-class nuclear war and bring immeasurable disaster to mankind.

The war moves, being staged by the U.S. imperialists in different parts of the world, have raised a serious question, a new world war or peace, for mankind.

The reality requires any country to courageously turn out in the struggle to check and frustrate the imperialists' aggression and war moves and defend peace.

It is the steadfast policy of the DPRK to stand against aggression and war and struggle for peace and security.

Our state and people will, in the future, too, fight to the last against the imperialists wantonly violating and wrecking the world peace and security and strive to build a new peaceful world in which international justice is realized free from aggression and war. -0-
