Research for Developing Anti-cancer Medicines Brisk in DPRK

Pyongyang, June 6 (KCNA) -- The Tumour Institute under the Academy of Medical Science in the DPRK has further intensified the research into preventing and treating cancer diseases with Koryo medicines.

Officials and researchers of the institute set it as a research target to develop a drug which can inhibit the proliferation of cancer cells with Koryo medicinal materials abundant in the country.

Based on the past experience, they pooled their wisdom and enthusiasm to develop a new medicine in keeping with the world trend.

They found Koryo medicinal materials with many ingredients inhibiting the development, proliferation and infiltration of cancer cells and developed an anti-cancer injection. The injection has been widely introduced into clinical units for its high-rate tumor growth control.

The institute directs efforts to the research for the application of the anti-cancer injection to the treatment of various diseases. -0-
