Pyongyang, December 24 (KCNA) -- The residents in Kilju County, North Hamgyong Province of the DPRK, greeted an auspicious day to be specially recorded in the history of the county, amid all the people's emotion and joy at the appearance of assets for prosperity being inaugurated one after another across the country under the care of the great Workers' Party of Korea.

An inauguration ceremony of the regional-industry factories in Kilju County for the Regional Development 20×10 Policy was held on Dec. 23.

Present there were members of the central leadership body of the Party, including leading officials of the Party, government and armed forces organs, officials and working people in North Hamgyong Province and Kilju County, soldier-builders and employees of the factories.

Ri Il Hwan, secretary of the Central Committee of the WPK, addressed the ceremony.

The speaker said that modern light industrial factories, which would play a pivotal role in the development of the regional economy and the improvement of the people's living standards, were built in Kilju County, the northern mountainous area of the country, under the strong trend of gigantic creation and epochal changes.

He extended warm congratulations to the people in the county who came to benefit from the precious wealth along with the great era in which regions are undergoing change in sharp contrast to the past, and to the soldier-builders who constructed with staunch patriotic loyalty the wonderful creations in which our Party's plan for the people's wellbeing has been realized.

The era of regional transformation making our country and our people richer and more beautiful is a brilliant embodiment of the outstanding ideas and extraordinary leadership ability of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un and a clear proof of the boundless happiness of the people living under his great care, he stressed.

The speaker ardently called upon the participants to devote their all wisdom and enthusiasm to the eternal prosperity of their dear hometowns and country, true to the noble intention of Kim Jong Un, saying that the undertakings for the regional development to be conducted in a wider and more proactive way under the Party's plan will bring about greater transformation and further accelerate the vigorous advance of our state toward a bright future.

Amid the loud applause of the participants, Ri Il Hwan, secretary of the Central Committee of the WPK, Jong Kyong Thaek, director of the General Political Bureau of the Korean People's Army, and Pak Jong Gun, vice-premier of the Cabinet and concurrently chairman of the State Planning Commission, cut the inauguration tape.

Fireworks were displayed and a large number of balloons rose up in the sky over the venue of the inauguration ceremony filled with cheers of pleasure, revving up the atmosphere.

At the end of the ceremony, the participants went round the newly-built regional-industry factories.

They expressed their great excitement at the production lines and various kinds of products being turned out at the foodstuff factory, garment factory and daily necessities factory which have been put on a modern, scientific and IT basis of a high level in less than a year after their groundbreaking.

That evening, colorful fireworks were displayed in celebration of the inauguration of the regional-industry factories. -0-
