Efforts to Improve Education of Factory Colleges

Pyongyang, October 24 (KCNA) -- The Ministry of Education in the DPRK is improving the level of education of factory colleges across the country in a far-sighted way.

A workshop was held to improve the quality of education and further develop the teaching administration of factory colleges in keeping with the new curriculum reflecting the selection course based on credit system and the preliminary basic education stage.

The workshop dealt with important issues of developing education.

It focused on making college officials have their abilities to evaluate in a scientific way students' abilities based on credit system and to carry out the new curriculums at a high level. It also introduced the experience gained by the units achieving successes in education.

There were also visits to Kim Chaek University of Technology, Pyongyang College of Electrical Technology and Haeun College of Technology and other educational institutions, which have improved educational conditions and environment and trained many talents of practical technologies.

Officials of the Ministry of Education and relevant units are implementing the new education programmes. -0-
