KPRA Heralds Start of Korean Revolution Advancing by Force of Arms

Pyongyang, April 24 (KCNA) -- April 25, 1932 is the day when President Kim Il Sung founded the Korean People's Revolutionary Army (KPRA), the first revolutionary armed forces of the Juche type.

Since the founding of the KPRA, a genuine revolutionary army fighting for the liberation of Korea and the freedom and happiness of the people, the glorious history of the Korean revolution advancing by force of arms started.

In the days of the arduous great anti-Japanese war, the President ensured that the KPRA played a pivotal role in carrying out the overall Korean revolution and paid deep attention to strengthening the political and military might of the armed ranks in every way.

The KPRA rapidly grew and strengthened into the leading force of the revolution under the outstanding leadership of the President and fully demonstrated its might in the armed struggle to annihilate the brigandish Japanese imperialists.

The Battle of Pochonbo, the Battle of Jiansanfeng, the Battle of Taehongdan and many other battles in which the KPRA inflicted heavy deaths on the Japanese imperialists proved the truth that no force on earth can match the revolutionary army led by the peerlessly great man.

Regarding the building of armed force as the fundamental issue of the revolution, the President directed primary efforts to organizing and developing the armed ranks. He defeated the Japanese imperialists armed to the teeth with the KPRA as the main force in the worst ordeals without state-backing home front or the support of regular army and accomplished the historic cause of national liberation on August 15, 1945.

The Korean People's Revolutionary Army, which was in direct charge of the anti-Japanese armed struggle and was the pivot of the Korean revolutionary force, developed into the regular armed forces under the care of the President after the liberation of Korea. -0-
