Pyongyang, April 3 (KCNA) -- Samjiyon City in Ryanggang Province of the DPRK is turning into a new and innovative city of civilization.

The respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un gave field guidance at the then Samjiyon County in April 2019, and indicated the tasks and ways for sprucing up this sacred place of the revolution impeccably into a mountainous town with modern civilization, a peculiar county which others cannot imitate, and the wealthiest county in the country.

He visited Samjiyon County several times and took all measures to turn the project for sprucing it up into a dynamic undertaking involving the entire Party and the whole country. He made indefatigable efforts while giving personal guidance to more than 8 800 draft formation plans.

The inauguration ceremony of the township of Samjiyon County, held with splendor in the presence of Kim Jong Un on December 2, 2019, was a powerful demonstration of the unshakable faith and will of our Party and people to glorify the revolutionary history and exploits of the peerlessly great men for all ages.

In November 2021 when he visited Samjiyon City, turned into a standard mountain cultural town and a model regional city, the General Secretary proudly appreciated that Samjiyon City has been successfully built as planned and intended by the Party. And he set forth important tasks and ways for more splendidly turning Samjiyon City into an area for the study tour of revolutionary battle sites and a tourist area.

True to his on-site instructions, a vigorous campaign has been conducted to carry out the Samjiyon City additional construction plan. As a result, successfully completed were the construction projects for more than 40 public and production buildings, including the Samjiyon Revolutionary Museum and neighborhood-serving amenities, tens of dwelling houses for employees and roads extending more than 230 kms.

In July 2024, the General Secretary gave field guidance at the construction of Samjiyon City again, indicating important tasks for further sprucing up the city in the light of requirements of the daily-developing reality.

The construction of the Samjiyon tourist area is progressing apace as it has weighty significance in widely introducing the nature of the country, further improving the people's cultural and emotional life and securing the driving force of regional development through tourism, true to the intention of the peerlessly great man. -0-
